The above link is a blog about Globe's kb-based internet rates vs. Smart's time-based internet rates, Globe's sim (I bought a lot of defective sims that can not connect to the internet / send MMS) and customer service around 2006.
Nowadays, Globe also has a time-based internet scheme at PHP5.00 per 15mins of internet use. Cool! But by default your sim is set to kb-based. Be sure to switch to time-based access before connecting to the internet.

As usual, the Globe sim I bought is defective again! Grrrr! I can not send MMS or access the internet. I did not bother to visit Globe center because I would be told that my phone is defective again. So, I borrowed the sim of a friend earlier (5/4/2008). Cool! I was able to connect to the internet immediately. I checked to see if weblinkscentral.com loads, everything's fine. Then tried out speedtest.net, cool! 371kbps! Stupid me! I forgot to switch the sim of my friend to time-based access. There goes my friend's PHP497.00 :( and I have to pay for it! What a great day!
