To set your Sony Ericsson K800i for Globe 3G / MMS / GPRS, text GO SEK800i,,1234 then send to 2951. You will receive over the air settings. Just save the settings and you're ready to go!
This procedure is 100% correct, I've tried it out myself. If it doesn't work, chances are, you got a defective sim. Talk about Globe's quality control :-( Sayang, Globe is the first HSPDA network in the Philippines pa naman. What's the big deal? A new sim is cheap, but I don't want to give up my existing number.

Nowadays, Globe also has a time-based internet scheme at PHP5.00 per 15mins of internet use. Cool! But by default your sim is set to kb-based. Be sure to switch to time-based access before connecting to the internet.

As usual, the Globe sim I bought is defective again! Grrrr! I can not send MMS or access the internet. I did not bother to visit Globe center because I would be told that my phone is defective again. So, I borrowed the sim of a friend earlier (5/4/2008). Cool! I was able to connect to the internet immediately. I checked to see if weblinkscentral.com loads, everything's fine. Then tried out speedtest.net, cool! 371kbps! Stupid me! I forgot to switch the sim of my friend to time-based access. There goes my friend's PHP497.00 :( and I have to pay for it! What a great day!

At long long last, Globe has introduced their Time Browsing Scheme for their customers. You get to access the internet for PHP5 every 15mins. It’s just like surfing at internet cafés but at more flexible mobile-friendly duration of 15 minutes.
